However, this year it not only gained a mention for being
the last day of the PWA Hawaii Pro, but also for the High
Profile Launch of
the feature length Movie, The Tropical
Energy Challenge Baja, Mexico, held at the infamous Jacques
Bistro.
With a record crowd, the Tropical Energy
Girls out
in force and Tropical Energy "Rum Bulls" (Red Bull,
White rum and Pineapple juice) flowing, it was an unforgettable
evening and the first glimpse of this long awaited epic,
featuring a selection of the World's best Windsurfers coming
together for a legendary trip into the unknown....

We will also be running high profile screenings
for the Movie at the WInd Defi in Gruissan, Southern France
on Friday 6th May and then at Fehmarn
Surf Festival in Germany

Update
It has been a
very hectic few months here at Tropical Energy HQ, but
we are finally in a situation where we should have the
coming year sewn up shortly and news of exact times for
airings of the Mexico and all future Tropical Energy events
Unfortunately, we were not able to go ahead with the remaining
2 events (Reunion and Hawaii) earlier this year for a number
of reasons, but this only means that the coming year's events
will be that much bigger, better and more exciting than ever
imagined possible.
We are happy to announce the launch of a number of new and
unique DVD projects, that will include the Mexico event from
earlier this year along with a number of exciting adventure
travel movies. Details of when and where these DVDs will be
available and their content will follow shortly, together with
news of upcoming Tropical Energy Promotions, Parties and Events.
So keep an eye on this page for regular updates from now on
and watch for the next exciting Tropical Energy moments coming
to a screen, night club or beach near you SOON...

THE TROPICAL ENERGY BAJA PARTY
Imagine after 10 days far from anywhere and anything deep in the Mexican
desert, arriving at the Martini Ranch in San Diego's downtown for the
party to end all parties: the Tropical Energy Challenge Baja Party.
This was to be more than just a normal prize-giving ceremony, there was
so much planned and so much potential for a night to end all nights that
word had spread all over San Diego. (This might have something to do
with the riders escorting the Umbrella Girls down a packed Pacific Beach
during the day, who were suitably dressed in their Umbrella Girls' outfits
to attract attention and publicize the evening's event).
The riders arrived and began to loosen up in the exclusive VIP area,
with Red Bull Vodkas on tap as more and more beautiful young women appeared
every moment, and seemingly out of nowhere!! Before they knew it, they
were being escorted down the stairs and up on stage by the Umbrella Girls,
the Playboy Twins Ricky and Vicky and to the sound of their individually
chosen songs. Once on stage they were greeted by presenters Trisha & Tristan
in front of an already huge crowd that was growing by the minute.
Throughout the entire ceremony, footage from the event was being played
on flat screens overhead and the crowd was screaming as if it was Snoop
Dogg on stage!! It was an incredible vibe and it was just getting better
and better all the time.
As a result, it couldn't have been a better moment to dive straight into
the next spectacle of the evening, the Miss Tropical Energy Baja bikini
contest, with a selection of beautiful local girls, hand picked in San
Diego that day. Judged by our celebrity panel of judges, namely the 50th
Anniversary Playmate Colleen Shannon, Maxim's Hometown Hottie Roxeanne
Siordia and the Umbrella Girls, the crowd was starting to go wild. And
if that wasn't enough, the Playboy Twins Vicky and Ricky decided that
they couldn't miss out on the bikini contest, so ripped of their tops
to display their bikini clad bodies to the crowd!!!
Despite the Twins being clear favorites, as a result of strong crowd
input it was local girl Natalie who beat them to first place, winning
a free trip to Hawaii to be a part of the Umbrella Girls for the FInal
event in Hawaii. It was therefore much to the twins dismay that they
finished in second, with another local girl Addie King in third. It was
certainly a spectacle to not only have the celebrity beauties such as
Colleen, Roxeanne, the Twins and the Umbrella Girls up on stage, but
add to that 8 of San Diego's finest and we had quite a spectacle on our
hands. This seemed all too much for the riders that had been stuck in
the desert for 10 days with no female contact whatsoever!!
 So
we had finished presenting the riders, the girls and all
the winners - all that remained was for our 50th Anniversary
Playmate Colleen Shannon to get up and rock the house with
her skills as an internationally recognized DJ. The rest
is history as the packed club raged until the early hours
of the morning - at one stage the line to get into the
club stretched out of the door, down the street and around
the corner!!
All in all it was a spectacular evening and an extremely appropriate
start to the Tropical Energy movement that bodes well for the future
of these exciting and all encompassing events: we managed to bring together
the most extreme, visually dynamic and radical action possible, athletes
at the top of their field, the true characters that represent the spirit
of these adventure sports and insane parties boasting beautiful girls,
great spectacles and fun for everyone. We were happy....
The Tropical Energy Challenge....be a part of it!!
